Updated Standings

You just can't count on those Badgers! The Wolverines managed to pull out a victory but Penn State delivered as promised. An Illinois team resides at the bottom of the standings and it feels good to see it's the Illini!

Seeing is Believing

I've captured the Big10 standings as of this afternoon.

I'll be sure to update the post after Michigan and Illinois lose!

As you can see it was a great day in Chicago.

The pancakes and the sausage 'McMuffins' were a hit. The bloody marys didn't hurt the cause. Overall the tailgate was a success.

On the way to Evanston Lisa said, 'they better win this game or I'll be pissed.' The Wildcats delivered.

As for our commute home, luckily it only required two portages.

Tuesday Night is Boy's Night

Stock up on the frozen pizza!

Today (tonight) marks the beginning of yet another academic chapter in Lisa's life. For some reason (actually several) she's decided to pursue a doctoral degree and tonight is the first night along that pathway.

There are two words that I didn't ever expect to string together - Doctor Janezic.

Kudos to Lisa.

See you all on Thanksgiving.

This year they had to line up at the back of the school. Apparently once you're big enough to be in fourth grade you're big enough to scare the kindergärtners!

Good luck boys with another year of exploration and education.

As for how their week went....
No cuts.
A few bug bites.
A couple of girl's phone numbers.
Tons of great memories.

The boys are already asking about next year.

When the kids are away...

The parents went out and played. Lisa and I hit the links for a day of R&R. While any day on the golf course is better than a day at the office our round at Oak Grove Golf Course in Harvard seriously challenged that mantra. www.oakgrovegolfcourse.com

We've agreed to not add up the scores for the round and move on to dinner at Le Petite Creperie in Woodstock to ensure that we remember this day fondly. Crepes and wine make most things just fine. www.lapetitecreperie.net

Aug 03 2008 - Dog days of camp

The dog days of summer... the boys may be old enough to spend a week a camp but apparently they're not old enough to travel without Rags and Floppy.

Oh well, Calvin had Hobbes and they seemed to have many marvelous adventures.

As long as the mosquitoes don't carry them off they're sure to have a great time. In the mean time I hope they enjoy the bug juice. For more information where and how the boys will be spending their days, visit the website at http://www.campedwards.org/ .

A Diamond by Any Other Name

Is just not Neil. Lisa and I celebrated a night of feeling young again. This is not because we were lifted from our seats and dancing in the aisles, but rather because we were young compared to the rest of the audience.

How do we know we weren't like the rest of the audience:

1. Jack was not wearing Aqua Velva.

2. Lisa did not wear a crocheted tank top.

3. No $35 dollar concert shirts or $20 large font program for us... we spent our hard earned cash on alcohol.

4. We walked the stairs (in both directions!) to our seats... no Rascal queue at the elevator for us.

5. We needed several trips to the facilities during the two hour show. Next time we'll follow the geriatric lead and sport our Depends.

A view from on board the boat. John and Katherine logged in the most time in/on the tube. Jacob and Andrew made sure that all the provisions were safe for consumption. Luckily the boys don't like the taste of beer so at least Tim and I knew we wouldn't die from dehydration. As for Anna and Lisa they struggled to stay awake...Anna lost that battle.

At the Janezic house we're always happy that the boys' camp counselors aren't featured on Cops.
