30 Hours of Christmas
The annual two-day event was a "success"... assuming you measure success as the ratio of gifts Lisa received to those that Jack received.
Oh well, I guess it's further evidence that Jack was on the "naughty" list this year.

Santa Visit 2007
What may be the final trip to visit Santa in Chicago... the line was long but moved quickly - it can't be because kids weren't asking for many things this year.
While we canceled our hotel reservations and dinner reservations at Bistro 100, we did sub in with a Chicago landmark - the Berghoff. John chugged a couple of cold beers and ate his schnitzel while Jacob enjoyed white fish with a cream and caper sauce. Dessert, as you will see, was all about chocolate. Jacob ordered the chocolate turine and John had the black forest cake. Double yum.

ET Winter Play 2007
The boys were on stage for the second time in two weeks. This may not come as a surprise to many but John seems to really enjoy the spotlight...wonder who he gets that from?

Pretty...
but dangerous. Ice covered the area for a couple of days this week. It made for tricky driving but gorgeous landscapes - even on garbage day!

Turkey!
The first Thanksgiving with the new kitchen was a success.
With 23 pounds of turkey on the grill and 2 turkey breasts in the oven you'd think there would be leftovers. You'd be wrong. Remarkably, there is still some wine...we must be getting old (or buying more wine!).

Lisa traveled to Bloomington, hung out with a TV star, and presented to two overflow rooms of eager students. Just as important...I think she had fun.

Quite the booty
After about 2 hours of trick-or-treating, John and Jacob hauled in enough candy for a small army of beggars and thieves. John accounted for 292 pieces and Jacob amassed 276 pieces. So let's see... 292 + 276 = 1 BIG dental bill.

Fall Colors
The leaves seem to be struggling to hang on to their green shades. The weather was beautiful. The trails were crowded. The bar was packed!
Overall, we had a great time at Starved Rock. As a bonus, all that walking and stair climbing counted not only as a workout for Sunday but Monday as well!
