Countdown
Three weeks from today we'll be resting in our hotel room in Gothenborg after driving our car from Trollhatten. The plans for our time after that are pretty loose except for where we'll be. The boys will celebrate their 7th birthday and I've got my fingers crossed that they want seafood for dinner. I'll report back on how this plays out from Sweden.

Flat in Brussels
We're booked. Our last hotel is actually an apartment in Brussels which will hopefully allow the family to feel more settled in Brussels for the last 4 days of our journey. It turns out the apartment rental business is big business and quite frankly looks like the best deal for any family with more than two people as the hotels can be a bit steep. Now we just have to figure out if we're staying on the French or Flemish side of town ... I knew I should have taken Flemish in high school!

Hotel in Sweden
Our hotel in Gothenborg is in the heart of the city's business district. Although Gothenborg is Sweden's second largest city nearly all the rooms are booked while we will be in town. It turns out that the International Volvo Ocean Race, an around-the-world sailing race, will end in Gothenborg on our departure day of June 17th, 2006. As we leave by ferry to Kiel, Germany, the racing boats will be coming in to the harbor - it should be a memorable sight. More information on the race can be found at www.volvooceanrace.org

Hotel in Switzerland
Hotel in Luxembourg
Nearly all of our hotel plans are set with the latest being a hotel along the river Sure in Bourscheid-Plage, Luxembourg. The hotel has fishing equipment available so I imagine we'll spend at least part of the day getting wet in the river. Maybe the boy's luck will be better with fish that don't speak English. It's hard to believe that in only 3 months time Luxembourg will be added to the "been there, done that" list and we'll be hanging out in Belgium. Now if we only had somewhere to stay in Belgium...
